Vestige III explores erosion, fracture, and material transformation through heavily textured mixed media surfaces built with layered acrylic, cement, sand, jute, and embedded stone.
The composition evokes the sensation of an excavated fragment emerging from geological pressure and gradual collapse. Weathered textures, exposed fibers, mineral surfaces, and fractured transitions create the feeling of a relic suspended between preservation and disappearance.
Rather than depicting a specific structure or landscape, the work suggests traces of buried memory and deteriorating terrain — surfaces shaped by time, erosion, and accumulation. Areas of exposed material and atmospheric abrasion allow the painting to exist between abstraction, artifact, and excavation.
The restrained palette of ash, limestone, charcoal, and earth tones reinforces the archaeological atmosphere while preserving the raw physicality of the materials themselves.
