Vestige II extends the excavation language of the Vestiges collection through fractured surfaces, embedded materials, and suspended traces of erosion. Built with layered acrylic, cement, sand, jute, and stone, the work evokes the sensation of a structure slowly exposed through time and geological pressure.
The composition balances dense material accumulation with areas of atmospheric openness, allowing the surface to shift between collapse and stillness. Embedded stones, exposed fibers, and weathered textures suggest fragments emerging from beneath the surface, as if remnants of a buried landscape or deteriorating architecture are gradually being revealed.
The restrained palette of ash, limestone, charcoal, and mineral earth tones reinforces the work’s archaeological atmosphere while preserving a sense of silence and spatial tension.
Rather than functioning as a traditional abstract composition, Vestige II exists as a tactile excavation field — suspended between preservation, erosion, and memory.
