Tara - Mixed Media Acrylic Painting

Tara explores emergence, identity, and human presence through layered acrylic and mixed media surfaces suspended between revelation and erosion.

Partially concealed within fractured textures and atmospheric veils, the figure appears to surface from the material itself — as if excavated from memory, collapse, and time. The extended hand reaches beyond the canvas plane, creating a subtle tension between presence and disappearance while reinforcing the sensation of the figure emerging through the surface rather than resting upon it.

Built through layered acrylic, transfer techniques, glaze, cement, and mixed media, the work combines weathered textures, distressed marks, and restrained mineral tones to blur the boundary between portrait, artifact, and apparition. Areas of erosion and atmospheric fragmentation preserve a sense of instability, allowing the figure to remain suspended between concealment and revelation.

Rather than functioning as a traditional portrait, Tara investigates identity as something constructed, buried, fragmented, and continuously resurfacing through memory and material.
