Fragments VII — Original Acrylic Mixed Media Painting

Fragments VII descends into a darker, more introspective landscape where texture, shadow, and restrained traces of color create a sense of mystery.

Deep blacks, charcoal, and blue-black tones dominate the composition, interrupted by a heavily textured horizontal passage that appears almost geological. Raised fragments, granular marks, and irregular surfaces emerge from the darkness, creating a tactile terrain that seems weathered and ancient.

Near the bottom, a small passage of warm coral breaks through the otherwise monochromatic surface—a quiet but striking detail that suggests something still alive beneath the darkness.

Rather than depicting a specific place, Fragments VII evokes an emotional landscape: what lies beneath the surface, what remains hidden, and the small traces that survive even in the deepest shadows.

The substantial texture creates a shifting relationship with light, allowing the surface to change as the viewer moves around the work. The painting becomes almost sculptural, revealing details that photographs cannot fully capture.
