Fragments III — Original Acrylic Mixed Media Panting

Fragments III explores the meeting point between natural material, memory, and layered surface.

Cool blue-gray tones move across the canvas like an atmospheric landscape, shifting from misty pale blues and mineral grays into deeper, more concentrated bands of charcoal and blue. At the center, a horizontal passage incorporates slices of cherry wood, bringing an organic material directly into the painted surface.

The wood fragments become both physical and symbolic—remnants embedded within layers of paint, texture, and time. Their natural grain contrasts with the surrounding abstract marks, creating a dialogue between the raw material of nature and the constructed surface of the painting.

Heavy texture, scraped passages, granular relief, and subtle variations in color give the work a tactile, almost archaeological presence. The lower section opens into lighter blue and mineral tones, suggesting water, sky, or a distant horizon without describing a specific place.

Fragments III is a meditation on what survives: fragments of nature, traces of memory, and pieces of the past carried forward and transformed into something new.
