Fragments X explores the passage between presence and absence, surface and depth, memory and time.
Layers of acrylic and textured mixed media create a weathered, atmospheric surface in warm umber, bronze, taupe, charcoal, and muted ivory. Across the composition, softly blended passages meet darker, heavily textured forms, creating the impression of a surface shaped by time and gradual erosion.
A strong horizontal band moves through the center of the painting, interrupted by a slender vertical passage of light. Together, these elements create a quiet sense of structure and division—almost like a distant horizon, a threshold, or a fragment of an ancient architectural surface.
The tactile quality of the work becomes especially apparent when viewed up close. Subtle ridges, distressed textures, layered pigment, and variations in sheen create depth that changes with the surrounding light.
